At Adina Stone, our vermeil pieces are crafted from 925 sterling silver with a 5-micron gold finish. This substantial layer gives you the beautiful look and warmth of gold while keeping the price more accessible than an equivalent piece made entirely from solid gold.

How to Care for Gold Vermeil

Gold vermeil has a layer of gold on the surface, so over time the finish can gradually wear, particularly in areas exposed to frequent friction. How quickly that happens depends on the piece, how often you wear it and how you care for it. A little extra care can significantly extend the life of your gold finish.

1. Avoid wearing vermeil jewelry in the shower, pool, ocean, or hot tub.

2. Put jewelry on after perfume, lotion, sunscreen and other beauty products have dried.

3. Remove it before exercise, cleaning, or activities involving chemicals or heavy friction.

4. Store pieces separately in a clean, dry place to reduce scratching and rubbing.

5. Clean gently with a soft, dry cloth rather than abrasive cleaners or aggressive polishing.
